This thesis focuses on the development trend of lithium battery industry, study with Japan's Panasonic, Samsung SDI and LG Chem three lithium battery companies as the major research object, to collect the three companies published research report and the major international industry survey report as the basis, to investigate how the three companies create their own technical advantages and become the core competitiveness in the global market, also establish the product standards and successful dominate the market, occupying the top three market share on market development. This thesis analyze by the strategy matrix theory of Dr. Seetoo Dah-Hsian, providing more detailed analysis of logic thinking and direction for the three case companies’s strategic behavior. From the results of research by six dimensions of the theory,the three companies have their own development direction including the advantage of raw materials technology, product types, customers and the development planning, in the application trend of adopting lithium battery as energy storage the relevant products have been became more and more complex, according to the advantage of this three case companies, including the mastered patent technology, resources investment and global market share, they will continue to dominate the lithium battery market in the future.
