By contrast, users had often switched to the VoIP services with the development of a variety of instant messaging software. For the users to choose the products of a Telecom operator, the service quality of VoIP has primarily been the focus, and the operator must provide services better than other carriers. In this research, we test a variety of VoIP applications on existing broadband network. First we test the performance of all types of broadband networks, to verify that the network transmission capacity is actually more than 90% of the line rate provided by the Telecom operators. Next, we test the performance of VoIP services on the broadband network using different ways. First we test the maximum number of VoIP services at the same time given a fixed bandwidth. Next, we test the quality of VoIP services with FTP (File Transport protocol) services in the background. In this research, we use the SIP protocol on VoIP services, and the G.711 a-law and the G.729 voice codecs. The result of this research may serve as a reference for the Telecom operators to offer more choices of VoIP service to the users. For example, the operator can learn to provide more number of VoIP services on the same broadband network, or to use the VoIP services with the other TCP/IP traffic at the same background.
