As Taiwan’s electronics industry faces the ever growing domestic and global competitions, hiring the best managers has become a top priority for companies to stay ahead of the game. To do so, it is important to clearly identify the key requirements for a managerial position, which will not only aid the recruitment process but will also help with job training and career development. With the right managers on board, the company will thrive and stay on top of the competition.
The purpose of this research is to study and analyze the managers’ collective perceptions of their job functions in Taiwan’s electronics industry. The study identifies key requirements such as personality, technical competency, job knowledge, work environments and so on, and that may ultimately contribute to the success of the company. The understanding gained from this study will improve staff selection and training program. The results of the study can also serve as a reference for future research and professional human resource development.
