Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 音樂學系 === 105 === The thesis features the septet“Homeward Journey," which is based on the musical elements from traditional Hakka music. This thesis includes the initial introduction of environment music, which can be divided into the two types – a humanistic environment music, based on Hakka music, and natural environment music, based on a variety of sounds from nature. The main idea of this thesis consists of a composition and the analysis of the entire work. It is classified into five chapters. The first chapter: preface – the motive, scope, steps, methods in use and the purpose of the research. The second chapter: the introduction of various aspects of traditional Hakka music. The third chapter: discussion about the spirit behind composing the work “Homeward Journey,”which includes the experience and stimulation added to the composition from Hakka music, the collision and discussion of both western and eastern musical elements, extending the emotion and inspiration with music, demonstrating the examples and introduction of the inspiration of composition in the three movements of “Homeward Journey.” The fourth chapter: the analysis of the structure of the composition, instrumental texture and other musical materials in each movement. The final chapter: the conclusion and reflection of the entire thesis.
