This is a qualitative study that used purposive sampling to choose interviewees from a limited field of specific subjects. Of the six interviewees chosen, four were day care social workers and two were day care managers. The researcher conducted in-depth interviews to collect data and, through an understanding of their situation, attempted to depict day care social workers’ experiences with human resource training. The researcher also offers advice as reference for related organizations. Research results show the basic image of training experiences for long term care, which includes incomprehensive long term care training material, a lack of direct practice sharing in courses which were often at risk of cancelation and internships being the best way to get a better understanding of long term care. The challenges day care social workers face include: administrative work taking up the majority of work time, making it impossible to focus on professional social work; incomplete professional supervision systems; role confusion for social workers; the lack of ability to connect with communities; individual suggestions from the elderly being easily overlooked; and being forced to take on professional roles such as overseeing and negotiating in case management. Moreover, offering on the job training at work can make social workers feel more competent professionally, create interaction between teaching and learning and effectively establish a platform for interprofessional exchange, but the obstructions include incomplete on the job training systems, dispute between managers and social workers on whether training needed for work exists and former training that no longer meets the job requirements of senior social workers. Lastly, the three main solutions that also make for the ideal blueprint of human resource training are for day care social workers to actively find resources to increase their professional knowledge, connect and use resources to solve problems and to retain positive work attitude.
