Summary: | 碩士 === 佛光大學 === 傳播學系 === 105 === With the development of communication technology, it was common that everyone equipped with one mobile device at hand. People rely on the mobile device not only on the function of calling someone but the application. The ways we use mobile device change our habit of using smartphone as well. In addition, it innovated our way of Teacher-Parent Communication. The ways that we use the paper family contact book and calling someone by phone were replaced by LINE app instead. This application accelerated our way of contacting students’ parents. Thus, by using this LINE app shorten the distance between parents and teachers.
In this study, participants were mainly from primary school to junior high school’s parents who use LINE as a tool to communicate with their childrens’ teachers. Literature review and questionnaire were be used on this study. By administering the "Personality Traits and Social Capital on the Use of Intentions of LINE" questionnaire, the subjects self-reported their personal background, personality traits, social capital and social participation. By investigating the factors above, it will help clarify parents’ intention of using LINE app.
Quantitative method was be used in this research. To obtain information needed in the research, 713 participants participated in this study. Among them, the numbers of valid questionnaires were 429 and the other 286 questionnaires were invalid. "Personal background", "personality traits", "social participation" and "social capital" were be investigated to explore the impact of the relevant variables on the intended of using LINE. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science 22) and SmartPLS were used as an analytical tool to analyze the results which included the descriptive statistical analysis, reliability analysis, variance analysis and Partial Least Square Structure Equation modeling.
Overall, the first results showed there is a significant difference that participants with extroverted personality traits between bridging and bonding social capital. Second, subjects with extroverted personality traits had significant differences in social participation. Third, the variable of social capital had positive impact on social participation as well as the intention of using LINE. Eventually, the result stated that personality trait had optimistic impact on the using of LINE app.
