Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 公共政策研究所 === 105 === The purpose of this paper is to explore the current situation of physical activity and body image of junior school students, and to explore the relationships among individual background factors, sociocultural factors, physical activity and body image. A total of 936 valid questionnaires were collected from 36 classes in 12 schools in Taichung City in the first semester of the 105th academic year. The findings of this study are as followed: 1. In the aspect of Gender, sociocultural influence from media on girls is higher than the one on boys. Girls are easily affected by the media. Boys are more satisfied with themselves in the appearance, action ability, physical capability, health and body shapes than girls. 2. In the aspect of Grade, there are no significant differences in physical activity. The physical image of the higher grade students is slightly higher than that of the lower grade students. Higher grade students are more satisfied with their health, appearances, physical ability and so on. 3. The average value of Body mass index (BMI) in the NORMAL range occupies 50%. The other 50% are underweight, overweight and obese. There is no significant difference in physical activity. In the body image, students who are overweight and obese are poorer than those who are underweight and in the normal range. 4. There is no significantly relation between sociocultural factors and physical activity. However, media and peers influences were significantly correlated with body image. Their satisfaction on the appearance and body parts was negatively related to sociocultural factors (media and peers). 5. The physical activity can effectively predict the overall body image.
