When defining slab with ETABS, you can choose the type of slab, either Shell or Membrane, but slab usually choosen as Shell in this software. If you don’t choosen slab as Membrane, the force of slab will be transferred without beam but transferred to column, it doesn’t meet the actual situation. There are two method to mesh the slab, one is Mesh Seleced Area, another is Auto Mesh, in the study we use Shell or Membrane to collocate mesh method, come into four method to compare and analysis. If there is an equilateral triangle slab that contain three beams, we assume that the EI value of three beams is all the same, and have three hinges supporting on three point. Each beam has responsible one third force. When triangle slab isn’t equilateral, each beam also responsible one third force, it’s unreasonable. The study aim to disscusion the difference of analytical method. We compare with two method to fine which method can obtain superior consequence. Analysis indicate that if we define slab as Membrane, no matter doing mesh or not, the difference between two method is very close. Thus, when you define slab as Membrane that you can without doing mesh. The results can be found in the comparison, building model with ETABS, slab should be define as Membrane instead of Shell, only when you define slab as Membrane that can get appropriate simulation. 張志超 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 74 zh-TW
