Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 國際經營管理碩士學位學程 === 105 === Risk mitigation has been a major issue in logistics management. However, few studies have tackled the issue of fleet accidents via big data analytics. Hence, this study aims to provide guidance about how to retrieve valuable information from real logistics data and to develop logistics prevention strategies for the alleviation of fleet accidents. Specifically, this study proposes a framework of big data analytics to extract essential patterns of cargo fleet accident of a logistics service provider in Thailand. The empirical results of big data analytics identify that region, accident types, vehicle types, accident time, and product types are key factors behind cargo fleet accidents. Furthermore, this study devised strategies for risk management in logistics systems as follows: “energize regional managers to create effective roles for fleet accident management plans,” “undertake driver centric safety management to mitigate risk from drivers,” and “enhance efficiencies of mitigating accident rates from external factors.
