The purpose of this study uses these two levels of physical and mental intervention activity to promote self-care ability, and then improve health status and quality of life for cancer survivors. A quasi-experimental study uses 12-week randomized controlled trial to evaluate potential benefits of stress management group and/or Qigong exercise on psycho- and physical well-being of cancer survivors. Participating subjects will be selected according to screening standards, and exclusion criteria were randomly designated as Experimental Group 1 (E1) for stress management group, Experimental Group 2 (E2) for Qigong exercise and Control Group (C). Totally 52 cancer survivals will be made aware of the importance of nutrition and be provided with primary cares. The evaluation includes social-demographic inventory and three questionnaires on cancer-related fatigue, fears of recurrence, and quality of life; and the analyses of heart rate variability (HRV). The evaluation will be conducted pre- and post-interventions, three months afterward, respectively. Data obtained from this study will be analyzed using SPSS 22.0 statistical software programs with descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the study including whether with nutrition, psycho- or physical activities interventions, outcome variables, and HRV all got improvement; comparison of the overall growth effect between two experimental groups, E1 Group was better than E2 Group; and the outcomes had significant relevance between E1 and E2 Group. We also to develop the assessment instruments of Caner-related Fatigue Inventory and Fear of Cancer Recurrence Inventory short-form for clinical evaluation. The ultimate goal is to provide cancer survivors a platform of mind or body activity for their prompt resumption of social and mental wellness and quality of life.
