Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 觀光餐旅碩士在職學位學程 === 105 === The main purpose of this study was to explore the influences of leisure attitude and leisure participation on emotional intelligence of elementary school students. This study used the method of questionnaire survey to collect data. The measurements applied included “Leisure Attitude Inventory”, “Leisure Participation Inventory”, and “Emotional Intelligence Inventory”. The participants were from the third to sixth graders of elementary school in HsinChu County, among which 594 valid samples were obtained. Data was analyzed by the method of descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The findings of this study would be presented as two parts. The first part of the findings was as follows, in “Leisure Attitude Inventory”, the average score of elementary school students fell on the upper-middle level. The average score of "leisure affection" was at the top level, followed by "leisure cognition" and "leisure behavior". In “Leisure Participation Inventory”, the average score of elementary school students fell on the medium level. The most popular category of leisure activity which students often participate was “social activities”, while the least one was “outdoor-recreation related activities”. In “Emotional Intelligence Inventory”, the average score of elementary school students fell on the upper-middle level. The average score of “Self-awareness” was at the top level, while the least one was “Self-regulation”.
The second part of the findings was as follows, the elementary school students’ performance on leisure attitude, leisure participation, and emotional intelligence differed significantly from their background variables. The elementary school students’ leisure attitude and leisure participation were positively related to their emotional intelligence. The elementary school students’ leisure attitude was related to their leisure participation. The leisure attitude and leisure participation of the elementary school students could predict the performance on emotional intelligence with good accuracy.
According to the findings of this study, some suggestions were provided for parents, teachers, the related administrative organizations, and future researchers.
