Teachers are responsible for giving moral, practical instruction and have the huge responsibility of dispelling doubts; yet they, themselves, face tremendous work-family conflicts and work stress causing their psychological and physiological conditions to be squeezed. The purpose of this study is to understand the work-family conflict of primary school teachers and the impact of social support on their happiness; to explore the work stress as a mediator variable; to examine the work-family conflict and the social support on the happiness of these primary school teachers as well as work stress as a mediator variable. The subjects of this study are the school teachers at Taoyuan’s municipal elementary schools and using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) and the Bootstrap Hypothesis Testing to examine a total of 310 valid samples. The SEM analysis revealed: (1) work-family conflict has significant positive impact on work stress, (2) social support has no significant negative effect on work stress, (3) work-family conflict has no significant negative effect on happiness, (4) social support has a positive impact on happiness, (5) work stress has a significant negative effect on happiness, (6) on the effect of work-family conflict on happiness, work stress is a full mediator variable, (7) on the effect of social support on happiness, work stress does not act as a mediator variable. Finally, according to the results of the study, it is recommended that the Education Authority gives the teachers the occupational and emotional support needed. Adequate social support can improve the teachers’ sense of happiness and acts as a buffer against the impact of work stress and work-family conflict. By actively establishing a friendly workplace environment and family culture, the negative influence between work and family will be reduced. Yuh-Shy Chuang 莊育詩 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 149 zh-TW |
