Summary: | 碩士 === 中原大學 === 心理學研究所 === 105 === Since no study investigating whether the little happiness makes people happier, the purpose of the present study was to investigate the influence of the little happiness on psychological adaptation. Based on related studies, we defined the little happiness as “lower intensity of positive affect, higher frequency of positive affect and higher event controllability”. According to the definition, we hypothesized that people who experience lower intensity of positive affect, higher frequency of positive affect and higher event controllability will have better psychological adaptation. 173 university students participated in the study. Experience sampling method and questionnaire method were adopted to collect data regarding indices of about the little happiness (intensity of positive affect, frequency of positive affect, and event controllability) and psychological adaptation (life satisfaction, psychological well-being, perceived stress, and depression). The results showed that people who experience lower intensity of positive affect, higher frequency of positive affect and lower event controllability have best psychological adaptation. Although our hypothesis regarding the little happiness was not fully supported, the present study provided empirical evidences between the little happiness and psychological adaptation.
