The Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique (ZMET), which was developed by Zaltman in the 1990s, is used in this study to tap into "people's inner thoughts" through one-on-one in-depth interviews. After applying ZMET to interview eight students who had learned the Arabic language at the National Defense Language Center, their recommendations and ideas can be concluded in many aspects including the faculty, syllabus, teaching materials and system at the National Defense Language Center. These conclusions are expected to contribute to the language center in terms of the learning of Arabic and the understanding of the military system.
