In addition, the study aimed to construct a career adaptability model and to validate the ap-propriate¬ness of the model applying to vocational and technical students in Taiwan. The study adopted survey research design. Participants were 477 vocational and technical students (Male=281; Female=196) from in Tainan. They completed the Proactive Personality Scale, Self-efficacy Subscale, and Career Adaptability Subscale. Data collected was analyzed by de-scrip¬tive statistics, one way ANOVA, Pearson's product-moment correlation, and multiple re-gression analysis.The findings were as followings: 1. Career self-efficacy of vocational and technical student is found medium. Students’ capabil¬ity for future planning and problem solving need to be improved. 2. The overall view, the older and working technical and vocational students in the for¬ward looking personality traits, career self-efficacy and career adaptability will be better than the young technical students. 3. Students of institue of technology 's proactive personality and career self-efficacy and ca-reer development are highly positive correlated. 4. Between students of institue of technology 's career self-efficacy and career adaptability, ca¬reer self-efficacy shows more predictive capability for career development. In view of the above research results, this study presents the relevant recommendations and fu¬ture research directions.
