Through the travels, the writer introduces to his children readers Taiwan’s historical characters, buildings, the modern scenic places, such as national parks, bathing beaches, department stores, the streets, etc. Which could be classified into three categories, the images of ethnic groups, buildings for spreading knowledge, and places for tourism. This research aims at discovering how Huang De-shi, being a person who has been through the reign of Japanese and Kuomintang, who took a stand of Han Nationalism, hid all the messages related to Japanese reign.
