Summary: | 碩士 === 國防大學理工學院 === 化學工程碩士班 === 105 === With the rapid development of high-performance weapons, the increasing importance of operating safety of explosives was focused by the advanced countries. The mostly traditional explosives possessing more sensitive characteristics were easily stimulated by environmental factors and then produced hazardous damages. The 1,1-diamino- 2,2-dinitroethene, FOX-7, is a promising explosive combining equivalent high performance and lower sensitivity comparing that of RDX. Although the current foreign countries has FOX-7 batch products, but the price is expensive, more than 3000 euro per kilogram. Therefore, it is worth for domestic research and development and then for applications.
In this study, FOX-7 was successfully synthesized by semi-batch process. Firstly, it was synthesized from 4,6-dihydroxy-dimethyl pyrimidine as a starting material which the commercial price is expensive, 140,000 NT$/kg. Secondly, the 4,6-dihydroxy-dimethylpyrimidine was synthesized and then the FOX-7 was produced. In this process, the cost of raw materials was reduced to 25,500 NT$ / kg, and the yield is up to 79%; the yield of scale-up is up to 72%. Finally, the products were confirmed by identification equipments, such as FTIR, NMR, GC-Mass and EA.
According to different proportions, the FOX-7 was added into TNT to form FOX-7/TNT explosives, and then the thermal properties and vacuum stability test were evaluated. Using DSC data, the activation energy calculating by Kissinger method of FOX-7/TNT explosives increased with the ratio of FOX-7 increasing. For the vacuum stability test, the released gas volumes of FOX-7/TNT with different ratio were less than 0.6 mL/g. Therefore, the compatibility of FOX-7 and TNT is excellent.
