Summary:博士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 企業管理系 === 104 === The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship of formal advisor to the process of strategic decision-making in the small and medium sized family firms through using the samples from Vietnam’s small and medium-sized family firms. The study found that the formal advisor has significantly contributed to the process of strategic decision-making. The family background of the firm’s founder has extremely impacted on the approaching and hiring a consultant. The relationships between the formal advisors and the family firm have highly affected on the results of applying consultant’s advices process. The advisor trusted level is greatly related to the level of applying the advice and frequency of using consultants.
