Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 教育行政與評鑑研究所碩士在職專班 === 104 ===   This study aims to investigate the origin of the professional standards of primary and secondary school teachers in Taiwan and the England, and to discuss and analyze the differences between both countries. The conclusions are summarized as follows: There are three commonalities between teachers’ professional standards in both countries. 1.The objective of teachers’ professional standards is the same. 2.The applicability of teachers’ professional standards is the same. 3.The contents of teachers’ professional standards are partially the same. There are four differences between the teachers’ professional standards in both countries. 1.The origin of teachers’ professional standards is different. 2.The development course of teachers’ professional standards is different. 3.The characteristics of teachers’ professional standards are different. 4.The usage of teachers’ professional standards is different.   Based on the above conclusions and in view of the development, content, and characteristics of the teachers’ professional standards in both countries, the following recommendations are proposed to serve as a reference for perfecting Taiwan’s future promotion and development of teacher’s professional standards. 1.Teachers’ professional standards can strengthen links with teacher appraisals. 2.Feasible supporting measures for the integration of the teachers’ professional standards and teacher appraisal is recommended. 3.Teachers’ professional standards may serve as a reference for incoming certified teacher evaluation. 4.Teachers’ professional standards not only facilitate the evaluation of teachers’ professionalism, but also give greater emphasis to professional development. 5.Teachers’ professional standards may serve as an important reference for handling incompetent teachers. 6.Student learning assessments may be included in the standards in the future to serve as a reference for teachers’ professional growth planning. 7.Teachers’ professional standards in Taiwan may be upgraded to a standardized level in the future.
