碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 視覺藝術學系 === 104 === Abstract
Ecological traits of animal population undergo changes with the alteration of the environment. So do people. Accordingly, I attempted to describe through animal images the shifting of young people as they adapt themselves to group living, so as to analyze, from a subjective perspective, the social phenomena caused by human behaviors under the influence of others’ comments and thoughts after they enter the job market. I therefore came up with the series of “Morphological Transformation” which comprises three subsections: “Self,” “Protection” and “Evolution.”
In the statement of “Morphological Transformation,” I present my journey of creating the series, including the bottlenecks that I came across in the process of creation. Under Professor Teh-yu Wang’s guidance, I started to study Franz Marc’s pictorial style carefully and was much inspired to create the series “Morphological Transformation.” I elaborate the ideas, metaphors and art-historical inspirations of the three subsections, “Self,” “Protection” and “Evolution.” I also analyze the compositional, color and aesthetic aspects of each piece in this series.
By referring to how animals adapt themselves to the environmental changes as a metaphor of human behavior in the social environment, I created the series of “Morphological Transformation.” I hope my creation could make viewers reflect on the impacts of the social behavior on the youth along the path of growth.
