Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 數學系數學教育碩士在職專班 === 104 === This research is to study on the effects of self-efficacy, family educational sources, and school safety on “Algebra” content in TIMSS 2011 math achievement by Taiwan 8th Graders. The quantitative data were from students’ questionnaire of TIMSS 2011 survey. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentages, mean, standard deviation, and the one-way ANOVA. The findings can offer practical suggestions to parents, teachers, and the education sector. The results of this study are presented as follows: (a) the 8th Grade students in Taiwan have good self-efficacy, family educational sources, and school safety; (b) participants with higher self-efficacy have significantly better mathematics achievement in algebra; (c) participants with more family educational sources have significantly better mathematics achievement in algebra; (d) participants with better school safety have significantly better mathematics achievement in algebra.
