Summary
This study aimed to explore how the citizen halls of Taipei city exercise localized curriculums to organize activities of children summer camp in social education in order to enhance children's awareness and learning to local culture, and thereby remind the obligation, responsibility and mission of citizens halls of Taipei City towards "Children".
This study adopted case study and targeted on the case of Love Together Children Summer Camp of Shihlin Citizens Hall, Taipei City to conduct exploration. Subjects included students of 2nd to 5th grade students from 20 junior schools of Taipei City, and the main learning activities of century-old shop and culture of wedding affais of localized cultural curriculum were conducted in Shilin District of Taipei City. Researcher, through the methods of in-depth interviews and teaching reflection method with participants, collected data and conduct analysis and, through a year’s exploration on data contents, obtained following conclusions:
1. It is suggested that our Government shall look squarely at the needs of the curriculum for children summer camp.
2. The planners of localized curriculum shall implement the quality of curriculum and teaching.
3. Children's summer camp held in localized curriculums could have multiple benefits.
4. It is hoped to awake the cultural mission of local enterprises to strengthen the energy of citizens halls.
5. It is expected that the citizens halls of Taipei City can fully develop the localized curriculums.
Finally, the results of this search were provided to citizens halls of Taipei City reference for their organization of localized curriculums for children summer camps activities in the future
