Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 應用物理暨化學系自然科學教學碩士學位班 === 104 === This study aims to assess the impact of Picture Book Teaching on first graders' learning achievement of the course "Rainy Days" and their attitudes toward science. The research employed multiple methods to understand students' viewpoints on Picture Book Teaching and to explore the problems teacher might encounter. Using the data collected from two first-grade classes of an elementary school in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City, the subjects were divided into two groups, the experimental group which applied Picture Book Teaching, and the controlled group with standard teaching method. The experimental course lasted five weeks. The findings of the study are summarized below: 1. Students' learning achievements improved significantly after applying Picture Book Teaching. 2. Picture Book Teaching demonstrated a comparatively positive impact on students' attitudes toward science than standard teaching method. 3. Students held a positive acceptance toward Picture Book Teaching method. Most children love "Listen The teacher said the story "and" experiment ". 4. Picture Book Teaching would be of more positive advantages if carried on with teaching tools and open questions discussed. The results share beneficial insights for teachers and researchers who are interested in Picture Book Teaching.
