Due to the lessening of student number, many institutions are faced with issues of class-cuts and consolidating schools As the supply of educators surpasses pupils, an imbalance occurs. Taiwan’s Ministry of Education currently does not have an established set of criteria to handle this extra number of teachers on hand.In the research I would like to focus on understanding how surplus teachers adjust their stress in a changing environment with interpersonal relationship and set rules. I use two aspects to analyze the situation: social support and organizational justice. The purpose of this study is to conduct a study on surplus stress adjustment for elementary school teachers in Taipei city. To achieve the research purpose, this study was initially confirmed the questionnaire of the surplus stress adjustment for elementary school teachers; obtained 298 effective samples. Furthermore, the questionnaire was confirmed the reliability, validity and existence of the relevant constructs, and the relative models. There are factors to explain these different situations of stress adjustment, such as background, organizational justice, social support and stress cognition. The results of the study we can see one of the most influence able factor is stress cognition, the second is social support, then experience of being a surplus teacher, finally is organizational justice.This study finally proposed conclusions and solid suggestions as references for educational administrators, school units, elementary school teachers, and future research based on the result.
