Using Factor Analysis to Construct a Biking Trail Based on High-Quality Service

Taiwan has been known to be famous for making bicycles for a long time.Riding bicycles is a good kind of leisure activities which can be saved energy,reduced carbon, and kept healthy. Therefore, many compatriots choose riding bikes as one of our leisure activities. In this study, we rode practically and analyzed thirty famous bikeways in Taiwan and used factor analysis to detect the quality of service systems of bikeways. The result showed four factors could be extracted from the service systems of bikeways, and the total explained variation was detected up to 77.7%. The four factors were listed as the factor of the beauty spot attraction, the factor of lane image management, the factor of exclusive bike lane, and the factor of the convenience of arriving. The explained variations of the four factors above were 24.4%, 22.8%, 21.0% and 9.6%, respectively. In this study, we can provide an index of building service systems to help establish a bike environment with good quality and characteristics.
