Summary:碩士 === 台南應用科技大學 === 國際企業經營系碩士班 === 104 === Abstract Junior-high-school period is crucial for students to shape characters. The ultimate goal for leisure activities lays on the enhancement of life quality. As for junior-high students, they get to know how to build up logical thoughts and the willingness to learn in the process of leisure activities. Moreover, the goal for students’ self-recognition and self-affirmation can be reached through the experiences in these activities. Thus, the study aims to explore the influence on students’ self-determination in terms of the participation of leisure activities. The subjects involved in the study were students studying at Fusing and Minde Junior High School in Tainan City. Questionnaires were used to obtain data. 18.0 questionnaires were issued and collected. All of them were valid. Through Statistical Package for Social Science, the methods used to analyze the data included Descriptive Statistics, Independent Samples t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Pearson’s Correlation Analysis. The main findings of this study were as following: 1. The results revealed that the most frequent activities for students spending in their leisure time fell on recreational ones, the least the volunteering ones. 2. The study also found that students in this case were better in performing integrated regulation, while the worst in indentified regulation. 3. After-school leisure activities were significant positive correlated to self-determination skills. Finally, in accordance with the results of this study, the researcher provides suggestions for parents with children studying at junior high schools, for related institutes, and for potential researchers.
