Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 劇場藝術創作研究所表演組 === 104 === The work about Women in the rain: How Insecurity Becomes a Double Edged Sword Abstract Women in the Rainhad been brewed since my first clown’s play about the conflict between mother and daughter: The Third Wish. After The Third Wish, my solo Waiting went a step further to discuss how “violence” in my life experience was transformed and seen in different relationships. After the production of Waiting, my experience of growing up near the Railway Street (the red-light district in Keelung) led me to be attracted by the gestures of the prostitutes and therefore brought about the creation of The Forgotten Prostitute: a buffoon performance that tells a story about the desire and sorrow of a prostitute working in the Railway Street. Finally, with the accumulation of these experiences and theparticipation of playwright and director, Women in the Rain was created. This paper explores theorigin of the creation of Women in the Rain, and by arranging thedevelopment of the play, this paper presents how a performer, by working and communicating with her director and playwright, discovered her own defense mechanismdue to lack of confidence, how it led to an unequal relationshipbetween herself and her director, and the tension during rehearsal period. Eventually the rehearsal period ended, the performer became the character on stage, and after the end of the play did I get to realize what kind of woman I am. Key words: solitude, relationship, solo performance, life experience, original script
