Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 舞蹈研究所表演創作組 === 104 === This is a performative report, discussing the graduate production “Companion” produced by Yi-Chi Lin. In performing three dance works of different form and style, there was an opportunity to discover a new self. As a dancer, I reset my body into a pure and neutral state. Along with my background and experiences in dance, I dived into the process of rehearsals, learned to face all challenges in performance, at the same time, I perceived and organized the thoughts and transition that layed down within my state of mind. The beginning section, the introduction, raised questions about the dance exists in the body. Chapter One: “Body as Language” describes the reset of body to its natural state, and the illumination in my sense and thinking, following my development as a dancer. Chapter Two: “Companion: Analyzing the Works” discusses the three dance works: Blank, Amarcord, and You & Me, Me & You, He & He in the production from my point of view as a dancer. The analysis of structure, content, times, background, character, mindset emotion, and performing method supported me as a dancer being into the character on stage. Chapter Three: “Companion: Accumulation and Transformation” unveils my personal experience from accumulation to transformation through the challenges in being both as a dancer in the choreographies and as a producer in the graduate production. Chapter Four: “The Body’s Journey” talks about how the long-term dance experience, age, learning process, and life experience affect my perspective towards dance, life, and my self., and how these experiences lead me to the next step of discovering, digging in the self, and sharing with the others.
