During the colonial period, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Macao, established in 1576 owing to the Roman Catholicism as authority in Portugal, deeply influenced the people in Macao. It has been playing an important role in public welfare and social care in the community, all along, notably in established a lot of schools which constituted a large proportion of the education in Macao. In 1931, Father Aureo Castro, known as one of the greatest Portuguese Musicians in Macao, arrived here and made a lot of significant contributions in Macao music education history, for examples, the establishment of Grupo Coral Polifonico in 1950s, the first specialist music school in 1960s, and the Macao Chamber Orchestra in 1980s, the first professional one in Macao. In this essay, the research of his influences and farsighted plan on the development of Macao music education from years ago to nowadays is carried out. Moreover, another focus of this essay is put to the notes and analysis on his representative works, which drawn from numerous sacred music and the ten piano works by the composer, Father Aureo, including Te Deum, a large choral work, Hodie Christus Nats Est, a Christmas service music, and Cenas de Macau, Dancas da Siu Miu Miu and Nostalgia, three piano pieces with Chinese characteristics, for the purpose of further understanding of the composer’s musical style. 顏綠芬 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 147 zh-TW |
