June to October is the typhoon season in Taiwan. It is a rare tropical mountain-island, two thirds of which is covered with high mountain ranges. So flash floods, debris flow, as well as landslides continuously threaten the mountain-island. This study targeted on senior high and vocational high school students in Keelung City, and looked into their cognition of debris flow disaster prevention education. The course was conducted through the network station set up by the government, and the effectiveness of this program have evaluated by the self-made test. The analyses show the following points: (1) the network station was set up in a clear way so that it is suitable for teaching curriculum, (2) the cognition of debris flow disaster prevention education can be obviously after their taking classes, (3) the high rate of giving wrong answers fell on those units having insufficient teaching hours, (4) increasing teaching hours and improving the coherence of teaching are advised so as to heighten learning effects.
