He is also a singer whose famous works include “Li wen-gu shiau-ke-jiu'”, a Hakka song named “Wu Yuan”, two Taiwanese songs “Street Children with Old Suitcase” and “Life”, a Chinese song “I Accompany You Until Dawn, and so forth. Lu Kim-Siu was closely connected to Ling Ling Records Company and had great significance as a representative figure during the 1960s. Starting with an apprenticeship in the sound-recording industry, Lu Kim-Siu began to be devoted to song creation and song-singing and left many music works in the history of popular music in Taiwan. The objective of the study is Lu Kim-Siu, who got the start in Wanluan Township, and this study deals with his music biography – his life before entering the music industry, his learning background, and the process of how he became a music writer. Additionally, this study arranges and basically analyzes his music works. Through Lu Kim-Siu’s music life course, this study investigates the production and the distribution of popular music in Taiwan before 1980s, including the process of how entertainers were connected to record companies, the process of music creation, and the process of music production. The use of copyrighted songs is investigated commercially and culturally. The study established Lu Kim-Siu’s music biography by literature review, field research, and biography investigations. In addition to the interview of Lu Kim-Siu, other professionals in the music industry also received the interview. The literature review of this study includes media reports, musical notations, disk records, and other documents. The results of this study are that Lu Kim-Siu’s status in the Taiwanese musical history was socially constructed. Last, it is expected that this study can represent the music networks during the 1960s-1980s, in which Lu Kim-Siu is an articulation, and which is different from the current popular music production circle in Taiwan.
