From Community Building to Building Cooperative—The Building experience in Tainan Shi-An Community

碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 建築藝術研究所 === 104 === The definition of "Public" is quite difference between the Western and the Eastern. The difference result a number of Chinese social habits, these habits let community building and Cooperatives face many "Issues". Therefore, how to use some strategy to operate, to corresponds, to cover up these habits to reverse our value, is an issue of concern in this study. Above all, I entered Shi-An community nearly three years, by way of participant observation to explore some important factors. The study found are three: First, The expansion and sustained of community building affected fundamentally by leadership . Second, specific strategies can effectively resolve the "Issues". Third, the power source of community building is social capacity and it's the primary goal at the beginning. Inadequate modern processing makes Cooperatives lost their value, that is the primary issue on cooperative movement. Besides exploring Shi-An community building process ,this study also focus on the reality about a Cooperatives' movement in traditional rural community. The study found are three: First, to realize about playing a role in Cooperative. Second, familiar the concept of cooperation. Third, improve the "Public" aspect in Cooperative. Establishment of the three-oriented, cooperative movement would be more robust and sustainable in traditional rural community. The purpose of community building is to attract people’s participation and assistance. From Community Development Association to Community Cooperative, from dependency to independent, from Oligarchic to build a cooperation pattern. How to change the value form "Individual" to "Cooperation" or "Community" is an important part in modern social movement.
