Poulenc applies his special technique to deal with his compositions. His has not received the traditional music training; as a result, there exist distinct fluency in his works. This trio is few of his chamber music that joins the bassoon, By discussing, analyzing and performing this trio, we can realize this composer’s music features. There are five chapters in this paper. Chapter one is an introduction to investigate the motivation and methods of this research. Chapter two describes Poulenc’s background and his musical style. Chapter three analyzes this trio, from the first movement to the third movement and researches the form, tonal, also the features of his creation method in this work. Chapter four discusses how do the performers truly interpret the musical terms and how do they perform this Trio for Piano, Oboe and Bassoon.
