Concerning methodology, the study tries to transform different problematics and raise new questions in regard to the text of Xun Zi using the basic concepts of Wei-Hsun Fu’s (傅偉勳) Creative Hermeneutics and the benchmark of Pao-Hsin Yuan’s (袁保新) complete interpretation, with the assistance of Qing-Song Shen’s (沈清松) Comparative Research and Sze-Kwang Lao’s (勞思光) Fundamental-Question Method. In chapter 2, the study reflects on research models in respect to the Chinese philosophy tracing back to early 20th century; in chapter 3, investigates into the interpretative system Subjective Philosophy proposes on Xun Zi; in chapter 4, expands several existing researching trends, such as rehabilitation of Rite, moral epistemology, virtue ethics, body and qi and other unearthed documents; finally, proposes new interpretative approach in chapter 5 & 6 accordingly. By reviewing and reflecting on former studies, the study proposes an unique insight into Xun Zi’s Heaven-Man Relationship in chapter 5, that is, an attempt to interpret Xun Zi from the perspective of “Unity of Justice and Fate” rather than the traditional interpretative framework of “Natural Heaven”, thereby defining doctrine and argumentation between Nature, Camouflage, Mind, Tao and Rite in Xun Zi from the perspective of Human again. 博士 === 淡江大學 === 中國文學系博士班 === 104 === The study attempts to review and compare existing studies on Xun Zi (荀子) crucial to contemporary Chinese philosophy, whereby new perspective to explain Xun Zi is explored.
