Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 土木工程系土木與防災碩士班 === 104 === Taiwan is situated in a collision zone between the Eurasian tectonic plates and the Philippine Sea, and thus suffers from earthquakes frequently. This natural disaster always causes a huge damage to people’s life and property. With more than 8,000 deaths and 100,000 ground-up losses since a hundred year ago, earthquakes have been the most destructive natural hazard in Taiwan. Therefore it is of great importance for preventing and reducing the the disaster.
Simple Earthquake Seismic System (SESS), a system provided by the fire department, was applied in this study to assess losses of earthquakes. Based on the simulation results and the risk evaluation, the losses resulting from earthquakes can be quantized and divided into several grades for the reference of defining accident insurance rate .In this way, it is expected that the premium estimation could be made more fair and perfect.
After this study on the division of New Taipei City with five grades consideration, the death risk of regional earthquake is classified as follows. The fifth grade includes Sanchong, Jinshan, Banqiao, Tucheng, Xinjhuang, Yonghe, Zhonghe, Shulin, and Sanzhi districts. The fourth grade includes Yingge, Wugu, Luzhou, Shimen, Bali, Taishan, Xindian, Tamsui, Wanli districts. The third grade includes Xizhi, Linkou, and Sanxia districts. As a result, the mortality higher the risk factor higher, the rate factor also increased, and thus the annual payment of earthquake accident insurance will be increased.
