Many studies suggest that BMI can be used as the health index of personnel and this paper intends to probe into the issue on if high or low BMI value will affect the rescue performance and even rescue safety of firefighters. The study objects are comprised of the frontline rescue personnel in field operation from the Fire Department, New Taipei City Government. The study monitors the heat beat, blood oxygen levels and other cardiopulmonary functions of firefighters in the fire rescue simulation drills as well as parameters such as the seniority, BMI and training status of firefighters, conducting comparative analysis through SPSS to examine the relationship with rescue performance. The study draws conclusion that there is not significant difference between the BMI value, and the amount of air consumption and overall rescue operation time of firefighters rescuing with air cylinders. Firefighters of different gender show significant differences in BMI values but such values will not affect their rescue performance. The study suggests to change the examination standards for firefighters and test on firefighting strength and skills, which should not be developed with different evaluation standards to due gender, in order to reflect the philosophy of gender mainstreaming and constitutional equality. 張寬勇 何嘉浚 學位論文 ; thesis zh-TW |
