Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 互動設計系碩士班(碩士在職專班) === 104 === As smart handheld devices have gained popularity in recent years, they have gradually replaced PCs and changed users’ behaviors of utilizing PCs as main devices of browsing websites’ information. Nowadays, the website development and design has become more complex than before, because it has to consider about heterogeneous platforms and diversified screen sizes of devices, such as smartphones, tablets, desktops or laptops and smart TVs. Responsive web design (RWD) provides a multi and cross-screen solution for heterogeneous platforms in a timely manner.
From the perspectives of RWD technology, this study reviewed its limitations from the past and the alterations of the current status, four phases were conducted. The first stage utilized data collection methods, screening a 1000 domestic website from Alexa, classified sampling 50 sites and designed detecting process, in order to evaluate and analyze the current status of domestic RWD Sites. The second stage employed expert interviews, examining the development techniques from practical viewpoints, for selecting out the assessment factors of development techniques. The third stage applied analytic hierarchy process (AHP) via a questionnaires expert survey, evaluating the priorities and weights assessment in improving of technology development. Moreover, conveying the frequencies and percentages via descriptive statistics based on analyzing experts’ practical experiences. The fourth stage utilized an empirical research, respectively conducting experiments, expert interviews and literature reviews, and then proposing solutions for the three major techniques through the priorities and weights assessment in technology development.
Based on the survey of sampling domestic website, two results are found from this research. The first is techniques into website development is still relatively low. The other is that browser supports the flexible images of HTML5 coding is significantly getting higher than before, therefore, improving many years problems of the browser compatibly with flexible images and enhancing the efficiency of downloading websites. Finally, the RWD developed techniques, the proceeding related studies and future development are proposed, providing the references for website developers/designers and the relevant academic researchers.
