With the changes of global economic structure and the labor wages increase, manufacturers are hard to survive and eventually many are moving to Southeast Asia countries or China where benefits from lower production cost. However, China’s policy changes rapidly in the last 5 years. Enterprise are facing pressure of extra 5 insurances and lead to many manufacturers couldn’t handle and have to move again as the nomads to Southeast Asia emerging countries. Many enterprises take the chance motivating to Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) so as to enhance its competitiveness, or develop new production mold for enterprise sustainable operation.   Product design can be a sharp tool creating differentiation, and also a strategic weapon increasing enterprise profit. Enterprise transit to business mold ODM aims to create product differentiation; however, still subject to customer’s decision. Enterprise of this research case study tried to achieve production marketing target by improving employees’ performance. Production mold changes from traditional pattern to LEAN PRODUCTION, expecting to control standard operation procedure (SOP) of each department efficiently, Lean operation procedure, minimize seven wastes, and cost-down production expense. Meanwhile, co-design with customers to achieve win-win purpose, including product outward design, functional design, technical creation, etc. Other than that, corporate with suppliers for a thorough supply chain to reduce the cost of material, and create an idea of community life. Control strictly in quality, execute total quality control from little Q to large Q. Invite all staff join this revolution and execute thoroughly total quality control to minimize the defective rate.   The purpose of this research is to understand how does operational change allows traditional industry to be still competitive. Take Taiwan traditional travel luggage manufacturers as examples, and use case study from executives of 4 travel luggage related enterprises or suppliers as interviewees. Interview data was analyzed by qualitative research and the use of inductive analysis and content analysis approaches.
