A loop structure with metal-ring and ground plane on FR-4 substrate to achieve antenna design to cover LTE bands was proposed. Impedance matching circuits constructed of capacities and inductors can tune the antenna system to operate with multiple bands capability was implemented. In current design, low-band with 4 kinds of impedance matching circuits is accomplished and cover LTE 700, 900. Through the addition 4 diodes, 3 impedance matching circuits with short diode and open diode can change the effective length of antenna so that higher frequency bands can be successfully generated ranging from 1.71 GHz - 2.69 GHz, 3.15 GHz - 3.85 GHz, and 5.15 GHz - 5.85 GHz. Therefore, the reconfigurable antenna using SMDs and diodes with seamless metal-ring will fit in the required LTE bands.
