The cholesteric liquid crystal has periodic helical structure, that results in Bragg reflection. The cell can be operated between the standing-helix and lying-helix configuration by in-plane and vertical electric field switching, respectively. The study is divided into two parts. In the first part we prepared cholesteric liquid crystal cell of standing-helix structure doped with different concentrations of monomers which were polymerized by UV irradiation and discussed the electro-optical properties of the cell. In the second part we prepared cholesteric liquid crystal and monomers which were irradiated with UV when applying electrical field and discussed the electro-optical properties. We also compare the results of the two parts. Jin-Jei Wu Tien-Jung Chen 吳俊傑 陳殿榮 學位論文 ; thesis 0
