Different color combinations create a transparent illusion in vision and psychology. This study adopts a cross icon to proceed the color transparency experiment and divides it into 5 sections by 3 colors. The left and right sections of the cross icon are the first color, the top and bottom sections are the second color, and the center section is the third color. The first and third colors become a horizontal bar, the second and third colors become a vertical bar. The top, bottom, left and right colors are surround colors. This study is to investigate the relationship between three objects: 1. Color combination and transparent perception. 2. Transparent layer and front color. 3. Transparent layer and front position. The results of this study show that: 1. Transparent perception depends on the color attribute and lightness. The center color is close to the surround color attribute, either or the surround colors match an achromatic color of low lightness, both conditions have the sense of transparency. 2. If one of the surround colors is close to the center color, it will be the front color of the transparent layer. The combination of blue series matching achromatic colors creates a stronger sensation of the front layer than the combination of red series matching achromatic colors. 3. The colors of the horizontal bar easily create an illusion of the front layer. This situation is not obvious to a combination of red series matching achromatic colors. However, the color of vertical bar won’t be a front layer. The results of this study should be a reference for a designer to make color plan. Jui-Wen Peng 彭瑞玟 學位論文 ; thesis 0
