To enhance the nation’s manufacturing capability, equipment manufacturing is the fundamental to build up the capability of the manufacturing industry. However, the current market became more competitive with micro-profit due to information technology improvement, information widespread and so forth. Industrial 4.0 will be the way to gain a cutting edge for manufacturing industry. Therefore, it is encouraged that Taiwanese manufacturing companies to develop industrial 4.0 through manufacturing equipment digitalization and intellectualization. To meet such vision, it is important to develop and integrate manufacturing industry, equipment manufacturing industry, ITC (Information Technology & Communication) industry, and internet service industry. Industrial 4.0 is leveraging from the big data computing, and helping the management decision making based on the results of the data computing. Big data computing is made through internet technology, mobile internet technology, and IoT (Internet of Things) technology supports. With the big data computing supports, the data from production facilities and data for business operation will be more accurate and meaningful. The data collection will become the most important and fundamental for the big data computing so that the data can be analyzed and used for management. The study is focus on manufacturing executing system’s design and improvement based on the logistics of component material. This is one type of big data computing application. The barcode technology has been applied to MES system to make the data to be the meaningful information so that the information can be used to improve the productivity as well.
