From a point , line to surface. Dimension expands to generate space graduately. We can't separates time from space , because space generation process takes time to intervene.Architecture is always using the tools which reduce one dimension to discuss space. I wonder that how to discuss and present space-time by three-dimension static space ? So I choose to construct in real site for an attempt to approximate the nature of time.
Thinking about time in landscape background
I think about an active role which time plays in design process , because of my studying background in NTU horticulture. Static images will not be believed in landscape design field. You can have chance to glimpse the complete design idea by paying attention to the hidden power under time effect. Disappearing from matter to order , time highlights the role of the dynamic process between artificial and natural intervention , so we can be aware of the environmental characteristics.
A not pre- accurate results to show artificial and natural interaction
Type and mode mutually influence and change each other in shaping process. In this phenomenon , from fixing to there is bound to get through the dialectical process. Make this relationship as a metaphor of construction process , human intervention must be based on natural principles. There will be the subtle deviations under common production method.
Presenting time in process of concrete construction
Human supress instability in materials for pursuing of a homogeneous products. Take concrete making for example , I investigates a construction material from manufacture process to continuing time journey , and make it presents the characteristics of hydration and weathering reaction. Finally , put a plurality of concrete productions which were manufactured in different time in the same space , with a strategy of synchronic concluding total elapsed time to realize the different time journey
