A nursing manager plays an important role in hospital management, and nursing career advancement in recent years often adopts a rotation system. However, with the implementation of the rotation system, the nursing managers face challenges and pressure, and how to manage it and improve their performance. In this study, nursing manager’s rotation, work competencies and performance correlation is studied based on descriptive statistics correlation analysis. The results show that the basic attributes of nursing managers, rotation unit, age, seniority and work competencies facets communication skills, customer-oriented, proactive, work management and professional knowledge and ability are relevant. The work competencies of work management, task performance, and professional knowledge and ability are less relevant in the context of the performance aspects. In facets of the work management functions, there is a high correlation, but proactive correlation is low. The results of this study provide hospital administrators as the reference for nurturing nursing manager, and potential candidate selection.
