| Summary: | 碩士 === 東方設計學院 === 文化創意設計研究所 === 104 === It is no secret that cats are mysterious, yet delightfully charismatic and full of character while being fiercely independent. So, almost by design it seems, that cat finds themselves to be the muse, or source of inspiration from writer, director, to creative types of all. I would like to extend my observation and inspiration from this feline and put out series of products to further establish a unique connection between cats and all sorts of different people.
Houtong had its past glory as a coalmine, but found itself back into the spotlight and commercial success with its one-hundred-strong cat colony. I would like to start with the observation of cat as well as information of it and combine cat-related visual to serve as the foundation of products.
Using cat as the main inspiration, to create proper visual identity and extend into a line of product with a uniform visual cue.
Through the final finishing products I hope to connect with the concept of animal care, to promote higher respect toward animals and further connect with humanity
To create cat-inspired products that resonate with some fundamental human emotion such as care and humility toward animals.
There will be three main phases with my work – pre-production, creation, and exhibition. Cat related information, cat photography and a collection of cat-related product home and abroad will be used for both analysis and creation, with a goal to contribute to the overall development of cat products.
