The working hours in Taiwan reaches record high and it turns out to compress time to cook at home. Dinning out is very common on the daily diet. Yet, frequent dinning out causes the problem of more and more people getting Metabolic syndrome. It becomes one of the modern plagues. Besides, the food scandals constantly appeared in recent years. All the above mentioned remind people to reflect and check their dietary habits and pursuing healthy diet as a popular trend. It shows the consumers urge the improvement on the kitchen efficiency.
Thus,this study first analyzes key design factors of ergonomics, application of smart electric household appliances, and traffic flow planning. The investigation of the innovative kitchen designs conducted through Importance-Performance Analysis shows the consumers’ preference in order as follows: ranking no. 1 is Design F, no.2 is Design D, No. 3 is Design W, No. 4 is Design is C, No. 5 is Design B, No. 6 is Design A.
It suggests that the investigation conducted thoroughly based on Miryoku Engineering, Evaluation Grid Method (EGM), and Importance-Performance Analysis has found Design F is No. 1 from consumers’ preference. It’s clear that Design F conforms to the following characteristics: improvement on the quality of life, user friendly, sufficient countertop space for preparation, cooking, and cleaning. All these characteristics are most welcome by consumers. Design F could be the reference for kitchen designers to create related innovative kitchen designs in the future. Most of all, this in-depth research on innovative kitchen designs will enhance my design ability and makes the kitchen designs better and better, and the whole industry will be flourishing.
