With the popularity of smart mobile devices, many applications for smoking cessation have been proposed and developed. Nevertheless, most of them have often overlooked the factor and benefits from social support, such as family and friends. Therefore, this study develops an app for smoking cessation based on social support theory to assist users to quit smoking so that users can constantly use and achieve the goal. The app helps users through functions such as alarm, questionnaire, smoking record and bulletin board. The experiment of this study is based on questionnaires designed according to Likert scale. Thirty users in the experiment are required to answer questions after a month of using the app. The results are collected and analyzed to determine the satisfactory of the functions provided by the proposed application. This information will therefore increase our understanding about the key factors for the app design of smoking cessation, and can offer potential references for the future studies.
