Taiwan also experiences this shift of demographic debt. This generation of young elderly born between 1941 to 1950 have experienced cross-era changes on political, economical, educational, and social environments. Their overall achievement clearly surpass all previous generations. The objective of this research is to understand the effects of these young elderly by participating in Christian Church activities. The interests of study are particularly focused on the interactions among those variables: Motivation, Involvement, Well-being and Loyalty of participation. Using convenience sampling method, a total of 209 valid questionnaires have been studied. The data were analyzed by SPSS 18.0 for their descriptive statistics, as well as their factor, correlation, variance and regression analysis. The results from the analysis are shown below: 1. Regarding the involvement of young elderly in church activities: women are more active than men, and the elderly who live alone or live with their spouse are also more active than those lived with their children. Also, this generation with an averaged higher education level and a perceived better health condition display a more active and successful aging qualities. 2. Self-improvement, social contact, and religious belief are factors contribute to the variable of Motivation. These factors of Motivation bring some positive effects on the other two variables: Involvement and Well-being. Among factors, "self-improvement" is the most significant factor. 3. The attraction from churches and the centrality of lifestyle are factors contributed to the variable of Involvement. The church attraction has a positive effect on participation loyalty. 4. Life satisfaction, self-affirmation and physical-spiritual health are factors contributed to the variable of Well-being. Life satisfaction, and physical-spiritual health are the two factors which have a positive effect on participation loyalty. The results of this study provide a reference for churches to design their activities for young elderly people. By enhancing their participation motivation and loyalty, it will help more elderly to join their local church. And this will help those young elderly people to live well, to live longer, and to live into eternity in God's love.
