The first kind is M1 steel helmet which is developed in World War II and cannot meet the ballistic requirements we want recently (its V50 is only 900 ft./s). Another kind of ballistic helmet (V50 is 1,800 ft./s) which is procured by the Logistics command in 1997,however , is out of date. In order to upgrade the ballistic function as perfect as other countries, our Arsenal begins developing the most suitable and newest ballistic helmet. Nowadays, old soldier equipment makes soldiers with heavy burdens. Although, soldiers can execute every mission, our Arsenal still needs to improve the functions of equipment to speed up the mobility of soldiers and ballistic ability. Moreover, soldiers can shorten the reaction time and throw into the battle as soon as possible. American Army adopts the macromolecular ballistic compound as a main material to develop the new ballistic helmet with light weight and great ballistic function. As a result, our Arsenal establishes a research project to develop the ballistic helmet for the sake of improving our manufacturing capacity, soldiers’ combat effectiveness, and meeting the requirements of the latest ”Future Soldier Combat System”. Because of this assignment, researcher, me, has the opportunity to participate in the establishment of the newest ballistic helmet production line. Furthermore, through introducing the old and newest production line and comparing the fibers of Aramid and UHMWPE, we manufacture the helmet with different materials and test them at the same conditions; all of them can achieve class IIIA of the US National institute of Justice Standard No.0108.01. 賴明材 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 57 zh-TW
