Description
Summary:碩士 === 南臺科技大學 === 電子工程系 === 104 === In this research, we fabricated different Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) of mesa size and electrical layout to investigate those sample characteristics. Those samples were divided into two categories mediums mesa size, 18mil, 20mil, 22mil, 24mil, 26mil, and large mesa size, 28mil, 30mil, 33mil, 36mil, 40mil. In the measured optical properties, the light output power was increasing with increasing mesa size. It should be attributed increasing mesa size can improve current spreading ability. However, the optical result show that the light output power increases smaller as the sample size from 24mil to 26mil. It should be attributed that the current spreading became worse, because the mesa was too large to perfectly spread on the mesa at the metal layout. We can found the optimization mesa size for the electrical layout through experiment result. And we also discovered that the sample temperature was decreasing when the mesa size became bigger. It should be attributed that the bigger mesa size had better heat transfer ability. According to the experiments, we can design a perfect LED for the electrical layout, and try to find a perfect layout for LED.
